The winter tour is being held for the 29th time. This tradition began with the journey of Buddhist Lama Ole Nydahl and his wife Hannah Nydahl throughout the Soviet Union in 1990. During the trip, Lamа Ole was accompanied by Russian and foreign students. Over the years, the tour started from St. Petersburg in the direction of Vladivostok or from Vladivostok in the direction of St. Petersburg, but regardless of the direction, it always was a journey full of discoveries and inspiration.
Together with Russian Buddhists, Lama Ole's students from Europe, North and South America, Australia, Israel traditionally take part in the tour... Foreign participants are invariably stunned by the beauty of winter Russia and the hospitality of Russians. In the cities where the Winter Tour makes a stop, travelers get acquainted with Buddhist communities, listen to the lectures of Lama Ole and his students, meditate and visit Buddhist shrines.
